National Museum
I visited in the National Museum of the Philippines. It was just amazing that there were things that allowed us to look back, to remember and to recognizesome events that marked our past, left us the memories of the struggles of our ancestors, andeducated us about our country’s history, culture and arts. The tour served as an eye-opener tous to appreciate our history, our culture and arts and especially our nationalism. There were so many artifacts that were collected from different part of the Philippines, evidence of the early residence in the country, proof of the past that our ancestors’ culture, appearance and way of living. There were skulls which were found from different caves in thecountry. There were also jars that were very old, like the Manunggul Jar, and the Jars of Maitum. The painting in the gallery seems that each of them has their owntheme, beauty, propaganda, negative messages etc.Aside from paintings, I also recognized some sculptures and statues in the museum made by Guillermo Tolentino. These sculptures were some of the prominent presidents of our country. Outside the Museum was a replica of the balangay, which took a big part in our culture.
Having an experience to have a tour in our National Museum was very awesome; I felt the spirit of being a Filipino, travelling along the past, sightseeing the beauty of our culture, and learning more things about our country.
